I'll dominate 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice remains one of the sport's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
